About Kenmore PTSA

The Kenmore PTSA hosts school community-building events such as Outdoor Family Movie Nights, after-school and evening dances for students, and guest speakers and experts on parenting and school issues. We also fund grants for staff to support classrooms and students, while also providing financial support for end-of-year grade-level events. We sponsor teacher appreciation activities throughout the year, such as our “Cookies and Cocoa” event right before Winter Break, “March Gladness” before Spring Break, and Teacher Appreciation Week in early May. We also support the monthly meetings with our EL families, including helping with preparing and providing dinners for our families.

As you know, your financial support will help us with grant funding for our classrooms and teachers, end-of-year activities for all of our students, and the events we sponsor to build and grow our diverse school community. For example, just recently, we approved almost $5,000 worth of classroom grants, including:

• uniforms, shoes, fabrics to support our theater, dance and music programs;
• books to support science and reading classes;
• buses for field trips; and
• a variety of classroom supplies/manipulatives to support instruction.

With your generous support, we are hoping to hold another round of grants in the Spring.
